I truly enjoy, when people of a certain culture can laugh at themselves. And what's best? They laugh at something, that others would do too. Why do I say this? Recently I got obsessed with a British series „Come Fly with Me” and I cannot resist introducing it to those who are unfamiliar with it.

„Come Fly with Me” is a production starring two British comedians, known from „Little Britain”; Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Both gentlemen are transformed into different characters, which they are play perfectly in my view. The characterization is also very

impressive.Here in the UK there is no need to introduce them to anybody. „Little Britain” presents life of „typical” Brits, from different social classes and parts of the country, in a much caricatured form. I think, it works out brilliantly and I have proper fun when watching these series. Although, sometimes they go „too far” and my laughter crashes with discontent. The plots repeat often, which can be a bit boring at times, but there are more funny moments, so I forgive it to the series and recommend it anyway. At least to get to know the British culture from a „different angle” ;)

In „Come Fly with Me” we also have „typical” characters played by Matt and David, incredibly characterized (honestly, I don't know how the production team do it!), but the action takes place mostly at an airport. The series is like a sort of documentary (mockcumentary). Narration performed by a famous, professional sounding voice (and very nice at the same time) of an actress Lindsay Duncan.

„Come Fly with Me” illustrates the absurd dominating customs in the country in a hilarious way. Those comical situations may be relevant to other places in the world without unnecessary debates. The series, in my opinion demonstrates, that Brits know exactly, how they come across and how others may see them, and this is not so characteristic of every culture. Thank of this, they allow themselves to “take the Micky” out of other nations. This caricatured entertainment is served all over, spreading an understandable simplicity for most people. There is no way to get offended.

It's a shame, that so far only 6 (!) episodes were filmed. Wikipedia informs me, that David Walliams advised that production of next pieces will not be continued...I found out instead, (not on Wikipedia!) that this actor lives in Hove Lagoon, so not far away from where I live...If I meet him one day jogging by the sea, I am going to run after him so far and for so long until he agrees to influence the production to re-initiate!

Uwielbiam, kiedy w pewnej kulturze ludzie potrafią się z siebie śmiać i co lepsze; śmieją się z tego, z czego inni też by się śmiali. Dlaczego o tym mówię? Ostatnio dostałam obsesji na punkcie pewnego brytyjskiego serialu pt. "Come Fly with Me" i nie mogę się powstrzymać od przedstawienia go niewtajemniczonym.

"Come Fly with Me", to produkcja z udziałem dwóch brytyjskich komików, znanych z "Little Britain"; Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Obaj panowie są charakteryzowani na różne postcie, które według mnie odtwarzają wyśmienicie, (charakteryzacja jest również bardzo imponująca!). Tutaj, w Wielkiej Brytanii nikomu nie trzeba ich przedstawiać. 

"Little Britiain" przedstawia życie "typowych" Brytyjczyków z różnych warstw społecznych ich kraju w bardzo karykaturalej formie. Moim zdaniem świetnie im to wychodzi i mam niezły ubaw ogladając ten serial, choć czasami posuwają się "za daleko" i śmiech zaciera się z zażenowaniem. Często też, powtarzają się fabuły zachowań postaci i może to być trochę nudne, ale fajnych momentów jest zdecydowanie więcej, więc wybaczam i mimo wszystko polecam. Choćby, aby poznać brytyjską kulturę, tak troche "z innej strony".

W "Come Fly with Me" też mamy różne "typowe" postacie grane przez Matta i Davida, niesamowicie ucharakteryzowane (naprawdę nie wiem, jak ekipa produkcyjna to robi!), z tym, że akcja dzieje się najczęściej w jednym miejscu - na lotnisku. Serial ma charakter dokumentalnego, narracje odtwarza pewien znany, profesjonalnie brzmiący, a przy tym bardzo miły dla ucha głos aktorki Lindsay Duncan.

"Come Fly with Me" w przezabawny sposób ukazuje absurdy zwyczjów panujących w Wielkiej Brytanii, które bez zbędnych rozważań można odnieść do większości innych miejsc na świecie. Serial według mnie pokazuje, że Brytyjczycy doskonale wiedzą jak są postrzegani przez innych, co wcale nie jest takie charakterystyczne dla każdej kultury. Dzięki temu, mogą sobie pozwolić na robienie sobie żartów z innych nacji. Serwują karykaturalizm na całego zarażając rozumianą prostotą dla wiekszości. Nie sposób się obazić. 

Szkoda tylko, że do tej pory zostało nakręcone tylko 6 (!) odcinków...Wikipedia podaje, iż David Walliams oznajmił, że produkcja następnych odcinków nie będzie kontynowana... Ja za to dowiedziałam się (i to nie z Wikipedii!), że aktor ten mieszka na Hove Lagoon, czyli na rzut beretem ode mnie. Jeśli spotkam go kiedyś nad morzem na porannym joggingu, to będę za nim gonić do skutku, aż zgodzi się wpłynąć na wznowienie produkcji!
