Ask for the feedback on you / Poproś aby cię oceniono

Have you ever wondered why some of your relationships didn't last? Have you ever been dumped by someone and couldn't see the reason for it? Have you noticed, that your employees don't seem to hold authority for you? Can you see that your children are not seeking more contact with you? Your friends did not invite you to their last party, and you feel a bit upset by it, have you wondered why?

Well, there is one question, which if asked, could help us to see clearer why some of those situations occur. This question, (if asked) would make us reflect more in depth on our relationships with people and help us to understand why we fell out.

But more than anything, it would make us get to know ourselves better. Most of us haven't even think about asking this question once in the lifetime. Perhaps it's because it requires imagination and courage to ask.

OK. So, have you ever thought to pick up the phone (or maybe now days to send an email/message) to your ex and ask how did you do as their partner? What was that they appreciated about you, but also what they didn't? Maybe, if they were those who left you, they could tell you what it was that put them off?

If you're a boss, have you asked your employees how good or not good boss to them are you?
If you're a parent have you asked your children, how do they see you as a parent? Have you ever asked your friend: "Hey, how do I do as a friend? Is there anything that annoys you about me?"

Basically, have you ever voluntarily asked for feedback on yourself?

If you haven't you better do. Ask the people you love and you care about. At the same time, trust that you can handle the answer with dignity if necessary. It's still less painful, than being given "the feedback" by shouting during an argument. It wouldn't be a real one anyway...

WERSJA POLSKA / POLISH VERSION

Zawsze to mniej bolesne niż otrzymać taką "ocenę" o sobie podczas kłótni. Zresztą, i tak nie byłaby ona prawdziwa...
